i’m in love

12Jul07

chefSo, before leaving the office yesterday I decided grab some dinner. The chef boyardee can of 99% fat free cheese ravioli on my desk was staring me down… at first I thought it was the evil eye he was giving me, but soon I realized it was the “come hither” look that I was drawn to.

While enjoying my ravioli I took an evening to the back office, I inexplicably professed my undying love for chef boyardee – not just his food, but the man. I mean, a man who can cook – who doesn’t love that? It was then that I realized this wasn’t so awkward.

Turns out, Emily’s more of a captain crunch kind of gal. Her explanation: he’s a captain after all and that hat’s pretty cool – wow. Nicole on the other hand is a fan of the jolly green giant – he’s tall and healthy, makes sure you eat your vegetables (I’m thinking she likes his fatherly qualities).

Who is your favorite food icon?

(Sorry, this is so late… I just stumbled in…)

Aunt Jemima–First, she’s big, she’s black, and girl [snap] she can cook! You know she won’t take any crap about her cooking and you know Auntie is going to cook you somethin’ tasty. “Calories? I don’t have time to worry about calories!” she’ll shout. Begrudgingly, you’ll eat it. Just a taste to be nice… but suddenly, all that love Miss Jemima has been putting in her food comes through and then you’re sopping up the syrup with one of her tasty rolls! “Thank you, Auntie! May I have some more?!”

    “Sure, sugar…”

Yep… I love me some Aunt Jemima.

    It’s a shame I’m gay–otherwise, I’d be all over that!
